Jason Halliday is an Oboist from Markham Ontario, and currently Lives and studies in Toronto. He has just completed his third year at the University of Toronto where he is currently pursuing a Bachelor of music in performance.  Originally starting on piano, Jason chose to pick up the oboe at age 12 and has learned from oboists like Hugo Lee and Keith Atkinson. His current primary teacher is Sarah Jeffrey, Principal Oboist of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.

He had the joy and privilege of being a member of the Toronto Symphony Youth orchestra’s oboe section during the 2019-2020 season, has performed with the Abreu Chamber Orchestra, and he also collaborated with members of the TSO in performing Bach’s Brandenburg concertos. Jason is very excited to be a member of the National Academy Orchestra this summer!
