Maggie Umanetz-Lertprasopsak is a flutist based in Toronto. She is currently pursuing a BM in flute performance from the University of Toronto, where she is the recipient of the UofT Scholars Award, the Howard F. Andrews Memorial Prize and the Percy Faith Award.
As an avid performer of contrasting styles, Maggie has performed with the University of Toronto Contemporary Music Ensemble, Wind Symphony and Wind Ensemble under Wallace Halladay, Jeff Reynolds and Gillian MacKay.
In addition to performing in large ensembles, Maggie has worked in several chamber ensembles including woodwind quintet, flute-guitar duet and flute ensemble as a member of the Star of Sea flute choir.
Maggie currently studies with Leslie Newman and has studied with Stephen Tam and Karen Shakespeare. She has performed with notable musicians such as Measha Brueggergosman, Jackie Richardson, Shakura S’Aida, and Barbra Lica.
As well as playing flute, Maggie enjoys painting, reading and drinking bubble tea!
